Volunteers Needed to Clean Up Civil War Battlefields and Historic Sites
The Civil War began as a struggle between armies of untrained but enthusiastic volunteers. Seven generations later, another army of volunteers is about to descend on America’s Civil War battlefields – only this horde of dedicated men and women will be armed with paint brushes, trash bags and weed whackers.
Washington State Congressman Honored for Efforts to Preserve Civil War Battlefields
During a ceremony yesterday on Capitol Hill, CWPT honored Evergreen State Congressman Norm Dicks (D-Wash.) with its Lifetime Achievement in Historic Preservation Award, recognizing his outstanding commitment to protecting America’s vanishing past.
National Battlefield Protection Group Honors Top Mid-Atlantic Preservation Advocates
During a ceremony this morning, CWPT recognized Friends of Wilderness Battlefield, Maryland educator Robert Rinehart and philanthropists Mark and Karen Perreault with the organization’s Chairman’s Awards for Achievement in Historic Preservation.

SCAR Unit Websites

October 26th is the last day for the old SCAR unit websites, so after that day, you will not be able to see our member units on Geocities. Now, though, most of the units have their own website with their own name. No more long URL's, no more remembering exactly what to type: Just try the unit name.

Much of the content is still to come, so do not think the sites are empty. Expect articles, member sections, pictures, and more soon on these sites. Of course, you can still get your SCAR News here: However, expect more detailed updates about the happenings of our member units on their personal sites.
